Privacy policy
This policy explains how Morning Star Children Academy School ("the school") handles information in its school app and website. The app is used by the school's staff and by parents and guardians of enrolled students. It is not open to the public and has no advertising.
What we collect
- Student records: name, admission number, class and section, date of birth, parent and guardian names, address, contact numbers, and a photo where the school has one.
- Parent and guardian details: name, mobile number (used as the login name), relationship to the student.
- Staff records: name, contact details, role, attendance, leave and salary records.
- School records: daily attendance, exam marks and report cards, homework, fee charges, payments and receipts, notices, certificates.
- Login records: when someone logged in or failed to, and an audit log of changes made in the system.
Why we collect it
Only to run the school: admissions, teaching and results, attendance, fee collection and receipts, staff payroll, and communication with parents. Children's information is used for school purposes only.
Who can see it
- School staff see only what their role needs (for example, the fee clerk sees fees, a teacher sees their own classes). Access is set by the school administrator.
- A parent or guardian sees only their own children. They cannot see any other student.
- We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We use no third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
- We may disclose information only where required by law, or to a government education board for official school records.
Where it is stored
Data is stored on the school's own cloud server in India. It is not copied to any advertising or analytics service.
How long we keep it
Student and fee records are kept while the child is enrolled and afterwards for as long as the school needs them for certificates, accounts and legal requirements. Records the school no longer needs are deleted on request or in periodic cleaning. Backups are kept for a limited time and then replaced.
Your rights
Parents and guardians may ask the school to show, correct or delete their or their child's information, or to close their app login. Contact the school using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time; some records (for example fee receipts and exam results) may have to be kept by law or for accounts.
How we protect it
- Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, never in plain text.
- All traffic uses HTTPS.
- Role-based access: each person sees only what their role allows.
- An audit log records changes and login attempts, and repeated wrong passwords are blocked temporarily.
- Regular backups kept on the school's server.
Children
The app is for parents, guardians and staff. Students do not create accounts. Children's data is entered by the school and used only for the school's own purposes.

If we change this policy we will update the date below.
